Over a decade ago, before many of these competitors became the stars you know today, we’re taking you back with a special flashback to unreleased matches you’ve been asking for. In this bout, Women Warriors leader Santana Garrett goes one-on-one with MJ Knight in a closed-door match at Team Vision Dojo, filmed without an audience. Don’t worry—an audience version is coming soon.

MJ Knight would go on to have a very active year shortly after this contest, and you can see early flashes of her potential here. Officiating the match is Amber Nova, who had yet to make her own in-ring debut at the time, getting a firsthand look at what her future would soon hold.

The match opens with crisp chain wrestling, as Santana and Knight trade arm bars, slick reversals, and technical exchanges. Knight’s gymnastics background shines through, but Santana soon shifts momentum with a fireman’s carry takedown, hip toss, and a series of arm drags, taking firm control and showcasing her unique submission offense.

Frustration sets in for Knight, who turns the tide by using the ropes to sling Santana throat-first and launches a sustained beatdown on the Women Warriors leader of 2015. Knight attacks Santana in the corners, follows up with a suplex, and looks to put the match away.

Santana counters with a sunset flip for a close two-count, leading into a stiff exchange of forearms where Knight briefly gains the upper hand. Refusing to stay down, Santana fires back with elbows, a boot, multiple clotheslines, and her patented Side Russian Leg Sweep. Knight survives the pin attempt, but Santana keeps the pressure on.

A round-off back splash into the corner is followed by a running bulldog attempt—countered by Knight, who connects with a spinning kick that nearly seals the victory. Amber Nova confirms it’s only a two-count. Santana responds with a quick small package for another near fall.

The very next move changes everything—a sudden superkick sets up the finish. We won’t spoil the final outcome… but this flashback is one you won’t want to miss.
