Koven & Chasyn Rance — Training Day 2
New year. New class. New energy.
Training Day 2 opens with change already in the air—new hair for Chasyn Rance and a new level of expectations for Koven as she steps back into Team Vision Dojo. This session isn’t just about repetition; it’s about evolution. New techniques are introduced, while Chasyn also takes moments to simply show off, throwing Koven around with ease to demonstrate what experience, confidence, and control truly look like in the ring.
Koven has a strong day. The foundation is there, and now it’s time to film what she’s learned.
The two tie up, and Koven immediately brings intensity. She reverses holds, fights for positioning, and shows clear improvement in her timing and instincts. At times, she does come off slightly intimidated—not by fear, but by awareness. Chasyn is fully in his element here: teaching, leading, and commanding the room with confidence, sass, and class. Koven seems intrigued by it all—and the way she smiles through the struggle makes it clear she’s enjoying every painful lesson.
Early on, Chasyn reminds Koven of a promise he once made—not to put her upside down.
He changes his mind.
Koven is flipped high into a Gory Special, a nod to Gory Guerrero, father of one of Chasyn’s mentors. The pressure stays relentless. Koven keeps fighting back, refusing to stay down, showing grit and heart as she pushes through each exchange.
Chasyn teaches her an O’Connor Roll and immediately tests it by hitting it on her himself. Koven kicks out—but Chasyn follows with something he didn’t teach her. The lesson is clear: knowing a move doesn’t mean knowing how to stop everything.
Things escalate.
Chasyn locks Koven into a reverse Boston Crab and casually removes her socks—Koven forgot to bring shoes and trained in socks that day. Barefoot and vulnerable, she finds herself trapped in an ankle lock. Chasyn asks if she remembers how to reverse it. She hesitates—she forgot. Chasyn helps her through the escape… then immediately takes control back with a guillotine choke.
They continue to wrestle, with Chasyn allowing Koven moments to try her offense—only to counter and shift momentum right back. When Koven attempts a double wrist lock into a flying head scissors, Chasyn counters, setting her up for a Tombstone Piledriver. It’s a tease—but the danger feels real. When he tries to reset, Koven isn’t sure what’s happening and instinctively locks her legs tighter around his neck as she’s hoisted into the air.
The match rolls on.
Chasyn didn’t teach Koven the Tequila Sunrise or the Sharpshooter—but he certainly shows them to her here. At one point, he asks if she wants to quit. Koven takes a moment, breathes, and decides to keep going—launching another attack despite the fatigue.
Eventually, the pace catches up to her.
Chasyn rolls Koven around the mat, pinning her repeatedly, never letting her fully recover. By the end, Koven is exhausted—but noticeably better. Stronger. Smarter. Tougher.
Training Day 2 ends with respect earned and progress made.
And both know this is only the beginning.
